The last 18 months have brought a significant number of changes for my wife Sherri and me. During that time we moved to the Dallas, Texas, area to serve part-time on a church staff and to continue our traveling ministry. Sherri and I thank everyone for their prayers during this season of relocation. While leaving many friends and family behind in the St. Louis area has made the transition a challenge to us, we are grateful for the opportunity to share our lives and ministry with the saints in the North Cities UPC congregation in Garland, Texas. Moving into our new house in Rowlett, Texas, about seven months ago helped us begin the process of feeling settled.
The Lord continues to graciously care for us as we move forward in our ministries. Transitioning from full-time Apostolic higher education has provided many areas for growth. While I do not think I will ever be able to fully shake the professor’s mentality completely, I do celebrate the gifts of serving in new capacities. Refocusing on various writing projects has been one of those growth opportunities. I completed the draft of a book on spiritual formation a couple of months ago; the book should be published sometime next year. This week I will begin writing some small group material based on the book.
This week I am also restarting my Walk Though the Bible series that I had to temporarily abandon last spring. I plan to post a new blog every Tuesday and Friday morning as I continue to work my way through Acts. I want to thank the many people who read the blog in the past and have encouraged me to continue the work when the time was right. I will post a link to the blog on my FaceBook page for folks to relocate here as well as to leave comments for me.
